Is it really windy in the Magic Valley? I've heard that Burley is. Curious about Twin Falls. We are considering moving back to Idaho from E TN.
Not a big fan of major wind. We lived in the Treasure Valley
Thank you

I'd say it comparable with the Treasure Valley. Some days it's windier in the Treasure Valley and calmer in the Magic Valley, then the next few days it will be reversed. It's based on the movement of low and high pressure systems. As they move across the region the wind moves around and with them. If the Boise area was too windy, then the Twin Falls area will be too windy too.

Sorry to immediately hijack your thread, but as someone living in Boise thinking about moving to East TN/ West NC in the next few years, do you mind if I ask why you are considering returning to Idaho? If I do stay in Idaho, I will be looking very closely at the Magic Valley towns.

Isn't the weather more intense in East part of Idaho compared to Treasure Valley?

E TN is growing like Boise. House prices up. The southern hospitality is gone. 9.75 sales tax. No help with property taxes. Always damp. I lived cheaper in Boise. Utilities are less. Too much rain, can never plan anything. Really don't care for the humidity, but it is only 2 months out of the year . Last winter was very cold, pipes froze, no water for 4 days I wish I had done more research before moving here.
People are nicer in ID. And E TN has horrible red clay soil!!!
Hope that helps
I was born and raised in the west and the east is just too different for me. Nice place to visit!
I've only travelled through Magic Valley, what I saw and read sounds nice.
One more issue, with all the rolling hills he had a difficult time finding a home without a lot of stairs or a level backyard. so many slope straight down. We thought the rolling hills cut down on tornadoes, but that isn't true. The lot nextdoor had been leveled by a tornado.
There are people from the west that say they love it here!! Each to their own.

There is lots to like about the Eastern United States. What makes it no-go for me is the humidity. Some people are bothered by it and some aren't. If you are the type who lives inside with air-conditioning, it wouldn't be much of an issue.
