There are a lot of good things in the east for a visit, but for me not to live.

People are nicer in ID. And E TN has horrible red clay soil!!!
Hope that helps
I was born and raised in the west and the east is just too different for me. Nice place to visit!
I've only travelled through Magic Valley, what I saw and read sounds nice.
One more issue, with all the rolling hills he had a difficult time finding a home without a lot of stairs or a level backyard. so many slope straight down. We thought the rolling hills cut down on tornadoes, but that isn't true. The lot nextdoor had been leveled by a tornado.
There are people from the west that say they love it here!! Each to their own.
"We thought the rolling hills cut down on tornadoes, but that isn't true. The lot nextdoor had been leveled by a tornado". Now this is in TN and not Boise?

Red clay soil is the same as Adobe soil?

It's like clay which will crack up in the heat then harden in the winter. The soil is hard. It's like low tide and high tide between summer and winter.
Whenever I hear of TN for some reason I think of the State of Kentucky.
