The crime numbers are heavily skewed by Memphis on the far west end of the state. Stay away from there and you will be fine.

True for sure. I would never live there. Now Nashville or Knoxville area, yes.

Now I like the Boise area for sure.

What ? Californians moving to Idaho ? I have never heard of this. Californians can’t stand cold and snow. There are no beaches in Idaho. I simply don’t believe it.

All of TN has alot of rural areas and in those areas there are a lot of drugs. And with drugs comes crime. More animal neglect then I've seen my whole life in other states.

Yes, but the smoke from the fires is a definite problem.

My opinion is while forest fires seem to be increasing, they rarely are a problem for most communities, atleast with some significant population. Smoke is a completely different story.

That was the actual problem I was speaking about. Should have been clearer as many times the smoke comes from other States and even Canada.

Air quality goes down. Have spare the air alerts.

Yes.
In 2019, 2020,and 2021, much of the smoke that blanketed Idaho came up from the California fires.

But not all of it, as Idaho also caught fire, as did Montana, Oregon, and Washington. In 2021, Oregon smoke was particularly bad here.

That's the way it is going to be in the summers, folks, for quite a while into the future.
The drought is causing all the old deadfall wood from 100 years of fire suppression to dry up and light up, and that accumulation hasn't been all burned up yet by a long shot.

Idaho has its own accumulated build-up, and we haven't had a major wildfire year for some time now.
Our turn in coming. The smoke caused me more health problems than the fires did, so I'm dreading the time when Old Mother Idaho lights up. It ain't gonna be good at all for anyone when it happens.
