No. He'll carry Sandpoint, Moscow, Ada and Blaine counties. That's about all.

Whooo....
I think I'll wait until after the primaries are over before I make any predictions. Maybe not even then.
Both parties are in a time of big change, and Idaho's propensity to elect independents often complicates things.

I think the earlier anyone gets in the race this year the better their chances will be next year.

I live not far from Sandpoint and I know absolutely nothing about him. I'll have to start paying closer attention.

I don't think party matters much. Is he rational? Does he believe in and support the Idaho way of life? How honest is he?

Being in Sandpoint, I doubt that he has had to deal with any of the big problems the state might see coming up in the future so it is going to be tricky to analyze his governing style.

Only one question: Can he provide entertainment at the caliber of the 2014 gubernatorial debate? Ahh how those were simpler times..

Since he’s a 4th generation native Idahoan, I’m guessing he’s clued in to the Idaho way of life, whatever that is.
I’ve only been here for 20 years so I wouldn’t presume to think I know more about being an Idahoan than he does.

No.
No way any debate can ever be that entertaining again. That was a once-in-a-lifetime mashup.

I knew Butch Otter a long time ago, and I didn't think he was all that smart, but his decision to include Harley Brown and Walt Bayes in the debates, both long-time crackpots who had run many times, was brilliant!

Neither had ever been allowed to join the debates before, so they seized their moment of glory and took over.

Poor Russ Fulcher never got more time than what it took to introduce himself before Harley Brown took over and began carrying on about life in his buddy Fat Jack's cellar. When Bayes piped up, it was perfect.
The madder Bayes got, the funnier he became.

All Butch had to do was sit back and laugh along with the rest of us. That was the slickest lock on an election I've ever seen. I admired him after that a lot. It was a genius move.

Brown was right when he said the debate was between a cowboy, a biker, a curmudgeon, and a normal guy. That was his only un-humurous statement of the night!
