It seems that the JJ shots are being reserved for people in areas/conditions where a second shot may be inconvenient for whatever reason.

That makes sense in Idaho but not true for everywhere. I have a friends in Waterford MI (northern burb of Detroit), two in Nashville and one in NC (hubby got Moderna) who received J&J shots.

"Freedom Day" today! 2 weeks since the 2nd shot of Moderna! We're going to do something wild and reckless that we haven't done for a year, like shop in person at Costco! And schedule dental cleanings! We're still going to use hand sanitizer, keep our distance, and have masks handy, but by golly, we're going to be out and about!
Best wishes to everybody for a continued safe and steady roll-out!

My wife and I are following the same pattern.... (Well, I've been traveling as an essential worker for 6 months; not any problems.)

You will not simply keep your mask handy at Costco. You will wear it properly or the Costco mask police will be on you. Guess who is not renewing her membership?

Not if you are in the USA! That is if you are talking about Pfizer. Pfizer is an American Company while Biontech is a German Company; they worked together for the vaccine, and I believe Biontech was the major push for the vaccine but not sure.

As for manufacturing, the vaccine produced in the USA is most likely end produced in Portage MI where they (Pfizer) has a large production plant. However, chemicals to produce the end drug are produced throughout the USA in other plants they own.

Biontech produces for UK and most likely the remainder of Europe.
