Understanding the original post was made a few months ago, I'll throw in my 2 cents as we spend about half the year in Hailey area, and have family in CDA, so we've spent a fair amount of time in Northern ID. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you have any specific questions.

Hailey - smaller area, more difficult to get to (usually good, but sometimes bad). You're 2+ flights (many times 3) away from family or other events (i.e. that friend's wedding you want to go to for the weekend). Unbelievable and unlimited outside adventures (fishing, hiking, skiing, mountain biking). To be fair, this is all available in CDA as well. This is a resort area, so prices for many things are inflated. Groceries, gas, etc. In general, less access to chain businesses (again - good and bad). Many folks will drive to Twin Falls for big box stores. Hailey specifically is growing and getting more expensive as the valley gets more and more desirable.

The one benefit you'd have in CDA is proximity to Spokane... As a big(er) metro area, you'll be closer to a wider variety of doctors, shopping, etc. GEG airport has more flight options.

Hailey is only a 2 hour drive from Boise, so if one needs an airport they will have plenty of flight options, including a growing number of direct flights to several major cities including a new direct flight beginning soon to NYC.

Or if you are rich, you can park your private jet at Friedman Memorial Airport in Hailey along with the rest of the multi millionaires who have homes in the area or visit the valley often.
