Osprey's mate for life most of the time. I don't know if they return to the same nesting site each year following their migration, so I'm not sure if this is the same pair that occupied the nest last year.

Here in the Province of Ontario, there is a volunteer program to build platforms on the top of old disused electrical poles, so that Ospreys will nest there. The platform locations are selected by the wildlife biologists of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and the building is done by local fish and game clubs.

Ospreys are big birds, with a six foot wing span. They like to be up high, close to a lake or river.

The last one is amazing. Someday I'd like to catch a fish that big!

Two ospreys in the "nest" right now! They look like they're waiting for the twig delivery...they had better start adding some twigs, or the eggs are going to fall through!

Nice sunny day...I could just sit here and watch those birds all morning...

Did you just see the one bring a little fish to the other one? That was SO cool!

We live on a river and I love hearing and seeing the ospreys. We have a nesting platform down near the water that they use.

Thanks much - very cool!

My husband is now addicted to the Osprey Cam. He's off on Fridays and had it on most of the day. He kept saying that the one squaking definitely has to be the female. I have no idea what he means.
