Does anyone know anything about the lead levels in the Coeur d'Alene lake and surrounding areas due to the mining district? I'm reading and hearing different info. For example the US Geological Survey reports high lead beaches, some at unhealthy levels affecting wildlife (especially Coeur d'Alene river and Spokane river). We're concerned for the health and safety of our children. We'd love to move up there but would like to get more info; we're looking for info from local people to get the real scoop! Thanks!

This topic is discussed at length in the Washington forum "Where to Live?" thread you initiated yesterday.
I agree, it would have been more appropriate in the Idaho forum.
