Spring is coming!

Looking for decent, wicker furniture for an outdoor patio. We know people who have recently spent a fortune on furniture from a brand called Frontgate. Even Crate&Barrel, or Pottery Barn seems very high priced. On the other hand, we want to avoid junk.

Is there anything out there that is decent quality without costing 3k for an outdoor, wicker sofa? Recommendations appreciated.

Costco.

Consider 2nd hand if you live in an area where people buy expensive stuff and relocate frequently.

Agree. When purging before moving, outdoor furniture is often the first to go!

Yes, to all above. May have to go with a set from Wayfair. Hard to trust without seeing it in person.

Whether it’s new (retailer of your choice) or used, I would not be brand/manufacturer specific. Instead, look for signs that tend to point to quality construction.

*Aluminum frame- no rust
*Welded construction- no hardware to fail/corrode
*Vinyl wicker material- the heavy/larger strands the better, the darker the better (more resistant to UV)
*foam cushion- closed cell foam (won’t absorb water)
*cushion cloth- UV resistant AND waterproof- preferably Sunbrella (verify)
*If new does it come with covers? If not, buy them! They are worth their weight in Gold!

When it comes to furniture in general, I’m definitely on the “touchy-feely” side! So, if ordering on line- triple check the return policy; and triple read reviews!!!

First off, wicker IS junk. It doesn't last, isn't durable and it sheds paint worse than a white Chevy pick-up hood. Much better to go with an ABS plastic furniture. You can get ABS that looks like wicker though.

I got an ABS "wicker" set at CostCo.

Not all wicker/rattan is junk. Well-made high-quality rattan options last for years.

Costco does have some surprisingly pretty decent furniture and the delivery time frame tends to be within a week or 2 as opposed to a couple of months out.
