existing home sales data came out yesterday, lee county had a 10% yr over yr increase in median home value and sales of 1500 (which is expected to decline over the next couple of months) but for someone that bought as an investment a year ago and has had positive cash flow of about 7-8% from renting it would look like 17% annual return was a smart decision for those that are gluttons for punishment.

I agree with the OP. I came to Cape Coral with no pre-conceived notions about the place one way or the other but after having lived here for almost 3 months there is no way I would remotely consider purchasing a home here. Good luck to those who are making a profit. Proves to me that there's always room for contrarians.

"Be Fearfull when others are greedy, and greedy only when others are fearfull"
- Warren Buffet

The demise of many Capeside was partially as a result of the herd mentality.
Everyone and there grandma were buying properties at inflated unrealistic prices.
People were simply following the crowd. See where that ended up.

Many yokos are out there..

"I cannot keep quiet about what has happened. It just isn't right. My conscience won't rest until I make the wrong that has been done known," said the letter writer.

Three city employees alleged to have participated in the coverup.
The writer also alleges he was told to keep his mouth shut, that the discharges couldn't be traced and that required DEP reports wouldn't be filed.

Wastewater dump in Cape Coral reported | news-press.com | The News-Press

The whistleblower claims his supervisor allowed the plant to discharged 3.4 million gallons of reclaimed chlorinated water into the Caloosahatchee River last month.

"What bothered me is the cover-up, like Nixon, the cover-up is worse than the crime.
And my concern is that we have people that are working for us we can't trust to do the right thing,
" Bill Deile said.
