I make $11.75 per hour and work part-time of 24 hours a week. They denied me and told me that I make too much money. Also they said no cash assistance for those who don't have a "family".

Pretty weird but it's so hard to find any type of job down here at this time.

I guess they figure if you don't have a family you could just go live at a homeless shelter and catch your dinner out of the canal or ocean. I don't know what to say man, sorry to hear this. I know its tough out there right now.

I found a roomate who wants to charge me $300 a month to stay in a 8.5 by 8.5 room with a small outside closet and I can't even afford to give him the $300 a month.

Wow, I'm at a loss for words, I have no idea why finding a job is such a mission in South Florida.

I have three degrees and I am having a hard time finding one too. Granted I am not unemployed but it is time for me to move on from this place but it is impossible to do so right now. Things are bad EVERYWHERE.

Um, maybe you are employed and they figure you can take care of yourself instead of the taxpayers.

Bet you also voted for a "change" too.

It's pretty hard to get help with out having kids. Alot of the programs out their really wouldn't help you unless you have kids, on disabiliy, or elderly...

Good Luck!

They feel you can take care of yourself with $11.75 a hour working part-time?

Really.

It's sad but true...
As I said in my previous post as a single individual not being disabled or elderly it's hard to get goverment help.

"They" are a very tight fisted bunch of bureaucrats that have forgotten how tough it can be to live on part time work.

Well the good thing is, for a lot of these "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" types. A lot of them are not going to make it through this downturn. A lot of them are going to lose everything. I can't wait for that because I want to see how well their theories hold up.
