Along the 1-95 and Federal Hwy corridor, areas are depressed. Broward Blvd near Sunrise Blvd and heading north is a depressed area, too.

Sistrunk blvd is bad until you start to get near downtown, then its starting to become upscale.

Just west of I-95 on sunrise blvd headed west, as you go along until you hit 441 is not the best either.

oakland park blvd headed east, just east of 441 till u hit i-95 is not good

headed east on peters road just east of the florida turnpike until you hit 441 is bad.

certain parts of coral springs are a problem too but i cant think of the street names right now.

sunrise just east of i-95 until you hit federal is sketchy

thats all i can think of right now.

Many areas in western Pompano Beach should be avoided, particularly Hammondville Road and areas bordering I-95.

Woops, I meant the area heading north on Broward Blvd on 441, continuing north of Sunrise Blvd.

broward runs east and west. Do you mean to say the areas on 441 that fall between broward blvd and sunrise blvd? If so those places are just working class, not bad. Maybe between say 19th street and oakland park, those are a little tuff.

Coral Springs???LOL. A couple of well maintained duplexes=ghetto? I have seen people refer to those buildings as "ghetto".

Carver Ranches in Hollywood, now THATS ghetto.Hollywood west of S.R.7, most of western Pompano (excluding Palm Aire, its pretty nice back there), Lauderdale Lakes, Lauderhill/the tiny eastern part of Sunrise (known as the Deepside in local street speak), Oakland Park,West Park, Pembroke Park, east Davie (yeah I know), Sistrunk corridor of Lauderdale, and anything along Sunrise and Broward Blvd east of the turnpike in Fort Lauderdale are all subject areas. Stay out of these areas and the rest of the county is fine. Sounds like a lot of areas, but all things considered, not a huge amount of ghetto for it's size, considering these areas are pretty small.

Indefinite hiatus, who am I kidding!

Coral Springs has gang and drug problems in certain areas.

That's true. I always forget about some of those areas off of Sample Rd. Just seems strange that it would get named the 10th safest city in the U.S. Underreporting, perhaps? Or maybe the gangs just aren't doing anything. Or maybe it's just such a small area amongst a very large city. Who knows.
