That's not true. There are many nice areas in Plantation and Sunrise with NW addresses.

Lauderdale Lakes seems to be getting worse by the year. My parents live in a condo there in one of the 55+ communities. It is not gated but they have 24/7 security making rounds. Lots of non-sense going on, one time someone drove a pick-up into the pond. People trespassing to use the pool/gym, even coming in to steal the toilet paper at the clubhouse. I think it can be ”okay” depending on the community, but the surrounding areas is another story.
