I absolutely love ramen, and I try different ones when I see them. So far my favorite by far is Nissin Cup Noodle Curry. I've even ordered a case off Amazon that I am working on, because that flavor is sometimes sold out in the store. I still laugh every time I look at the directions. "Go for it! Cook it! Hang On! Slurp away! Stir and enjoy!"

After tasting this one (it's Japanese Curry, not Indian Curry, so tasty but not spicy), I looked up some of Nissin's other flavors and each one has a different noodle -- one that is thinner or thicker depending on the soup and its ingredients. So now I have a goal to try all of them.

What's your favorite instant noodle?

Nongshim is excellent, the flavor I buy is the beef which is made with real bone broth.

Ramen is the best. Is it just me or is a bowl of ramen noodles, with a PeanutButter jelly sandwich and a cold glass of milk, once of the best things out there.

DH is addicted to the Marachuam creamy chicken ramen. Buy it by the case from Amazon (cheap!) He Breaks up the noodles into smaller bits, adds an egg and srircha. Leftover meat if there is any.

I like to change it up and have asian grocery stores so I have a huge variety of choices. If I had to choose only one, it would be Idomie Fried Noodle Mi Goreng.
Indomie Mi Goreng Instant Stir Fry Ramen Noodles, Halal Certified, Original Flavor (40-Pack) https://a.co/d/ba6cFIi

Distant second choice MaMa Duck Flavor Noodle.

I've been eating ramen since I was a kid, and survived on it in the thin college years. The chicken flavor orange Maruchan package and a cut-up hotdog is my jam. To make the soup thicker I would put the flat noodle cake in a Tupperware sandwich bowl, put hotdog slices around the edges, add the flavoring on top, then barely cover the noodles and cook 3 minutes. I would let it sit for another 2 minutes before digging in. It's the best when I'm not feeling great.

In my starving, budget conscious college days, years ago, ramen (usually Top Ramen, or Maruchan) was my “regular” meal 4-5 times a week.

These days, I don’t consume much ramen, as I carefully watch my carbohydrate intake.

On occasion, my spouse likes Nongshim, Sapporo Ichiban, Nissin Demae (from Hong Kong or Japan, but can be purchased in the US at many Asian grocery stores), or Nissin Top Ramen.

Is the egg raw before cooking? Or a boiled egg?

Back in the mid-late 1980’s, the “Ralph’s” chain of grocery stores (in Southern California, where I attended college), started selling “generic” labeled products. That was the “rage” back then. The products had a white wrapper/label with black lettering, identifying the products.

They carried and sold a generic ramen at a bargain price of 10/$1.00 (10 cents each.) The name branded ramen, such as Top Ramen was 5 or 6/$1.00.

I cannot recall what flavor the flavoring packets were, though I think they had several varieties: beef, vegetable and chicken. From what I recall, the quality of these generic products were pretty good.

I do remember the generic labels. Their "light beer" was cheap and tasted like Old Milwaukee. I was in tech school out of Basic in the Air Force and buying cheap beer was pretty important back then

Oh wow, I remember eating really cheap ramen when I was first on my own and in college. All I had was an electric kettle and no fridge, so ramen was a staple of my diet, along with peanut butter. Can't eat it now though due to the sodium. Ironically I got a bunch of it free from WalMart last week due to their screw-up with an order. Hope my yard helper likes it.
