I recently had a bicycle accident and fractured my knee. I can't do very much. Under normal circumstances I would not consider an expensive service such as this, but it is cheaper than takeout, plus no need to wash dishes. I have looked at several, they all cost more or less the same, but the one that looks most appealing is Freshly.
So do any of you use such a service? Please only answer if you have first-hand experience. I KNOW this is kind of expensive but right now I don't have a lot of options.
I used to get Freshly and wasn't really impressed with the meals. I liked the convenience of it, but the quality was fairly meh.
Just today I received a shipment of Factor meals. I've only had two meals so far (had one for lunch and one for dinner) and was pleasantly surprised by both.

Thanks! Are they heat and eat? I don't want to cook at all.
Factor is supposed to be good. I've been researching meal service due to hubby's health not leaving me any time to cook and shop. Now I wish I had saved the list with my notes to save you the trouble of researching! Here's one online list with some information on the meal services though.
I have finally decided to order from a local service and to save money, I'll order mostly meals that can be put into the freezer and I'll also cook a little bit when I have time and also buy some healthy (there are a few!) frozen meals at the grocery store.
Good luck and I hope you get a lot of helpful information. I think this prepared meal delivery is the way to go in many cases.
Well, I looked into Factor and it sounded pretty good until I checked the price - $15 per meal not counting tax and delivery! So it's a no for me. Even if a bit bland I might try the Freshly. Still debating on my options.

Well that's if you only get 4 meals a week. It drops if you order more. If you ordered 12 meals a week, it would come out to $11.50/meal.

I know but I only want 4. The other plans are way cheaper. Glad it works for you. Thanks for the recommendation, though, I won't say it's completely off the table.
My Dad (93) tried Freshly one time, was not impressed at all. He's not much of a meat eater so there's that. I cook for him when he asks me, I live about 100 yds from him. But he can cook, mostly soups, chili.'
I might take a look at factor for him.
