OK, so it's the morning of the 2nd day after TG meaning I just ate leftovers 1x since TG dinner & I'm already about ready to eat something different. I'll eat some today too though.
That's how I usually am...just about 2 days after TG & I'm ready for something else. Bring on the pizza or Chinese food, ha!
I've been working my way through them. We've eaten all the corn casserole and the rest of the fresh green beans. (I steam them until tender crisp and toss them in shallot-mustard dressing.) My MIL kept the turkey, but I brought home the carcass and made soup stock to put in the freezer. We have some stuffing to eat, which I'm thinking of baking into savor muffins to serve with eggs tomorrow morning, and that will be everything.
I'm good for three days having leftovers for dinner. After tonight, I'll just be picking at them for lunch. Or in the case of the stuffing, maybe for breakfast.
I'm sick of the whole thing the second I put down my fork.
I'm not a fan of traditional Thanksgiving dishes. I'd rather have a plate of sushi.
Ha, me too. We didn't have much left anyway because I try to only make as much as I think we'll eat. By the morning after Thanksgiving (yesterday), my son had eaten the leftover mashed potatoes and vegetables; my daughter had eaten the cranberry sauce. We all worked on the desserts and by evening, they were gone. We roasted a breast and I gave the bones to my mother-in-law; she likes turkey soup and I hate it.
We went out for Mexican food last night and are going to have the TG left overs tomorrow for lunch. There were not that many left overs to begin with so they will not be around after tomorrow. There are so many ways to use turkey which makes it fun to find recipes.
We went to my brother's and didn't bring home any leftovers. Stopped Friday on our way home to pick up enough Pollo Loco for a couple of days.
We have about half of the second pecan pie left, the one that burned a little and was too ugly for the feast. It's OK if you scrape off the black parts.
I love coming up with "new and improved" new recipes using leftovers. I would make turkey meatballs with tomato sauce and fresh herbs. Or French potatoes au gratin with thyme using the mashed potatoes leftovers. For yesterday I made croque madame using turkey ham and keto bread.
