Ever done that? There's 1, 2 or 3 recipes on a page, you start gathering the ingredients for one dish, and you found yourself having drifted to another recipe, adding ingredients from another recipe!

Is that frustrating or what!!! I tried to salvage it the best I could, but the waste basket won out!
Ha! When my daughter was about 10, she won a baking contest at the library for a cake made with pistachio pudding. She realized that she had flipped over the pudding box halfway through the recipe, and won with a combo of both recipes.

I have recently started being more aware of preservatives being put in food. Once I had a huge headache, so did my daughter and Mother, like a migraine it was so bad, all thre of us at the same time, and we don't normally get migraines, let alone all three of us at the same time. We realized that we had eaten a product, I won't name it, it is turkey in gravy, and we looked at the ingrediants list, and towards the end it had something added to preserve freshness. Since then, I have been very leery of foods with lots of chemicals added, and preservatives. Staying away from that stuff. More of an "eat clean diet". But it is tough.

Imported food. Lately, I have been seeing so much scary stuff about food made in the US, it makes me even more cautious about eating imported food made in other countries, like tuna from China. Anyone else looking at labels regarding where the food comes from?

Someone told me years ago, "If I can't say it, then I don't want it in my food". Seems like he might have been ahead of his time.

I usually eat sardines straight without adding anything to it. Does anyone add anything to it making the taste better ? Any creative ideas without making it fattening? Thanks.

Just a bit of salt.

I've tried to use sardines with other things, but found that they only take away from the taste experience. I did, however, enjoy chilled sardines on hot buttered toast.

I like my sardines with lots of lemon or lime juice. Couple of dashes of hot sauce is also nice.

If you don't like them, why do you eat them?
