serving broth like coffee??

what a great concept

beef broth, pork broth , chicken broth,,,, lamb stock....turkey...broth..

I would try this instead of coffee , hype it up as being healthy and cheap

aint that interesting!!

ive actually, sold chicken broth before....
I cut up over a 100 chickens once and simmered the back bones,,, added some poultry spices, and sold the stock/broth for .69lb and it did sell. (in a grocery store)

I have a pot of chicken stock on the stove right now. So much tastier than using base or bullion! Plus, when I have a cold, I love the sinus-clearing effects of broth with fresh bay leaves simmering away all day as much as I love eating the soup itself.

I find this craze about bone broth to be so funny... People saying how they would never be able to feed it to their children, people saying how odd it is... The reason I find it so amusing is that it was basically on the menu of every restaurant I ever ate at in Hungary when I was growing up, and very common at home too. Basically every meal started with soup, and bone broth was it several times a week. It's very cheap, simple, and doesn't taste a lot different than just, say, chicken broth.

(And no, we didn't eat many "weird" foods there - pretty much the same ingredients we have over here in the U.S. - just meat, potatoes, vegetables, pastas, etc. So it's not like we were eating super-exotic foods of which this was one of.)

I don't get it.

The basics of cooking is flavor and chefs have been using bones to make stocks for a very very long time. Any decent restaurant will be serving "bone broth" in soups and sauces. I don't see how anyone would think its a latest craze or weird unless they are so totally disconnected from how food is prepared.

Ridiculous that something so completely simple and basic is a billed as a hot (and overpriced) trend, but that's the way of things.

One of my chef frinds was joking she was going to make an organic bone broth and noodle soup and charge $25.

Good idea, bad idea? Doesn't matter when the timing has been so good for this miserable winter.
