Hi everyone,

Maybe you can please help us out a bit. We are moving to Port St Lucie and buying our first home. We are trying to figure out monthly bills.

We are getting a 4 bedroom home, inground pool etc. Its just the two of us

What is the average water and electric bill per month? Also what other bills pop up that we are not used to?

Thank you in advance

Jojo

Default PSL Bills

It all really depends, or example:

do you have a sprinkler system? is it hooked up to city water or a well. we have a sprinkler system hooked up to city water and run it about 3 times a week - we average around 80.00 a month.

electricity - we average about 190.00/month

garbage is 70ish every 3 months

Hope that helps.

Ely

2500 ft. house on the Treasure Coast

Monthly Bills

Elec. $130 - $150 winter
Elec. $230 - $270 summer

Water - $50

Trash pickup - $42 every quarter

You'll have to add to this, cable or satellite, dsl internet, telephone, and of course prop taxes for your area, homeowners ins., auto ins., but these are bills that you'd be faced with wherever you lived.

Note: It is considerably cheaper to ac my house here in FL than it was to heat my house in the north.

Talking Bills

We just relocated to Ocala from NH, I was sort of shocked when we recieved our first electric bill, on the charges list it said our average monthly use cost was $15...not bad at all but the bill was for a little over $100. I read it over to see why the heck it was so high. Down here they have a monthy cosomer fee of exactly $77.89 per month...Add you monthy usage and taxes and surcharges it can be pretty high! We live in a 3 br and don't have a pool, and from what I hear they alone add about $100 or so on top of your bill ( we were looking into getting one). We have well water so there is no water bill, and we bring our trash to the dump so we dont pay for that either. Hope I helped

You didn't provide the sq. ft. of your home, but here is ours. There are some differences between the counties. I live south in Broward county. There is just the 2 of us.

We have:
2800 sq. ft. home - central a/c and a window unit in the garage.
Average monthly winter - $250
Average monthly summer - $350

We have an in-ground pool and we run the pump 12 hours a day - the average would be much less, but we have this coating on our pool which forces us to run the pump longer.

Water/waste/garbage : average $75 a month

Phone bill which includes DSL: $180 per month
Cable: $125 a month
Lawn service: $60 per month (2 cuttings).

Pool service: discontinued 1 year ago and we service the pool ourselves with far better results and less headache.

Hope this helps.

Garbage pick up is the largest part of your water bill. Water may be like $7. and garbage another $40 or $50 depending where you live.
