Ok? Good for California. I read the article, there was one example of a company moving parts of its Miami office back to SF. San Fran, as we all know, has its own challenges.

But that’s not what the article said regardless of the clickbait headline.

This will hurt the feelings of the right wing base, but it's entirely true. I work in tech (Full Stack Software Developer) and although I've seen major strides taken in South Florida and Florida overall, when it comes to cutting edge tech such as AI/ML specialties and research, California is certainly the undisputed talent king.

COVID and Desantis' decision to keep the state running (his one shining moment) was honestly the best thing that has happened to this state economically, but the tech relocation movement is essentially over. I do believe however that SoFlo can carve out a nice niche in Finance and possibly Fintech.

Also despite what's being touted, I don't see many California license plates in South Florida at all...and if they're not in this portion of the state, I highly doubt they'd be in any other part.

It's why even despite all the headlines about "people fleeing California", that state continues to attract hordes of new residents, paying millions of dollars for its real estate.

I can’t recall the last time I saw a CA plate in Central Florida.

Thanks for confirming - Next time you visit South Florida, take a look around...they aren't here in large numbers either...even in the downtown areas.

Not the end all be all test, but I've seen maybe two California plates in Palm Beach and Broward counties in 2024 (I traverse the tri-county area frequently) so far.

The same way they always did, through selling advertising.

Ads and ad revenue in media (newspapers, magazines, TV, etc.) have been dwindling for decades. Same is true for online media. Soon, unless you pay for it, you won't have any media. Majority of towns in the USA no longer have local news. Print or TV.

But this is great news!

After decades of Americans slamming the media for their elitism, bias, incompetence, or [insert insult here], everyone should be thrilled at the demise of the national and local media.

Which is why so many places in the USA no longer have local news.
I mean they could work to regain credibility

Just a thought...

Repealing Smith-Mundt would go a long way in that regard...
