I believe it. But remember some of these counties were "southern democrats" they simply switched the republican. Very common for the south and border south states. They were conservative leaning democrats

Same here. I am now a registered independent, and have voted every side of the coin. I vote for whomever aligns with my views.

The primary elections in Florida are closed, i.e., you have to be a registered Republican to vote in the Republican primary. I know of some formerly registered Democrats who switched their registration to Republican for the sole purpose of voting against Desantis in the Republican primary.

And I know of other people who are registered Republican only because they are state employees and don't want to risk their jobs. Not all who are registered Republican actually vote Republican.

Wild goose chase over “data” that probably doesn’t exist. I clicked the link, downloaded the zip files, unzipped them, looked at the aggregated data, tried to see how they determined an active and inactive voter. I saw everything but data pointing to 25 blue counties flipping red.

Eh… you can check the 1995 data, and compare to 2022, and see which counties went from blue to red, and red to blue.

I just glanced at the stuff, and really had no interest in going through it all, but at a quick glance, it’s right there. Compare first year to last, and voilà.

Are there 25? I don’t know… Maybe? Maybe not.

That’s the punchline…there isn’t - You need 25 blue counties to begin with…so the fact you were able to calculate it is baffling as well.

How could it be awful news?...Floridians don't want vermin running their state..

I switched from unaffiliated in the 2020 election to Republican just so I could vote in the primary. I switched back to unaffiliated after the primary.

I'll probably do it again this year. I'm thinking I'll toss Chris Cristie a bone this time around. But that's only because Mussolini isn't on the ballot.
