What is going on with the Romaine Lettuce stock in the groceries? I went to three different Whole Foods yesterday and there was no fresh Romaine only bagged. I went to Costco and literally they had none. Anyone else have experienced this? I ended up getting some fresh at Publix. It wasn't as good as Whole Foods Romaine Lettuce.

Check out Sprouts. I am always able to get it fresh (not bagged) from there, and the quality appears to be higher than Publix.

Good question. My bagged Romaine had more brown decay than usual. It is usually free of decay.

I wouldn't eat that stuff, period. That what was causing people to get sick at Chipotle years ago. Consider it a blessing that you can't find it.

The immigrant labor used by the agricultural industry is leaving the state/country and many in the trucking industry are boycotting FL. Publix is already seeing big shortages in poultry as well, the fresh chicken section was virtually empty this week save for some Perdue brand options.

"immigrant" = illegals?

that has to be some local distribution problem....I'm as far away from anything as you can get...and our Publix and WinnDixie are both loaded in chicken and fresh romaine
LOL same here! No shortage of anything, really. My Publix is fully stocked.

It's California grown romaine, it's too hot in FL obviously. Chicken is typically out of varying states in the Southeast. How do you suppose it gets here?

Apparently you have zero idea of how idea of how veggies and fruit are produced then reach the grocery store. Big hint, they don't sprout out of the ground already wrapped in plastic.
