They changed the name of the greens because the word Romaine is toxic to their brand now. I won't eat Chipotle greens to this day. I just get my burrito with rice and beans.

I have noticed the dread ‘spring mix’ aka a mixture of random weeds, seems to be crowding out other types of lettuce, likely because it’s relatively chap to grow but stores and wholesalers can still charge a premium over iceberg for it.

Maybe so.

I don't know what country Romaine is sourced from but there is something wrong in the supply chain. I won't eat it. Chipotle almost went under, the problem was so bad when the Romaine kept getting infected over and over again and in the news.

My Publix is knee deep in chicken and Romaine. A lot of these shortages can be blamed on whoever is responsible for re-ordering and local preferences. For instance, I like a certain type of stir fry sauce and my Publix stopped carrying it for some reason. The one a mile away has an entire shelf of the sauce.

Here's an article about the Romaine shortage and no, it doesn't have anything to do with migrant labor and boycotts.

I like my Romaine to be dark green and crunchy, not soft. Seems like what I got at Publix is green with brown and soft, but it is okay. I've been to Sprouts but it is a pale green. Someone told me if I like crunchy lettuce, I should eat Iceberg. She also told me that Romaine is always being recalled. Anyways, I'm picky but just trying to find out if other people here are experiencing a shortage in their groceries they shopped. Apparently, the Pandemic is still here, and it needs to hit the road.

Hmm... from Sprouts, have you tried the non-bagged one? The bagged stuff is just the "hearts." If you find the loose romaine, it has the dark outer leaves, and only the absolute exterior leaves have any sort of brown edges to them (which is normal.) The rest is fresh and crisp. At least from my experience.

Publix can be very hit or miss depending on area served. When I lived in Baldwin Park in Orlando, I could find all sorts of goodies there, including a decent variety of ethnic items, a fairly large seafood counter, LOTS of organic meats and produce, etc.
About 45 minutes NW of there in Eustis/Mount Dora, the difference is night and day in terms of stock and variety. The Publix in East Lake in North Pinellas is about in between. Not quite as good as the Baldwin Publix, but not as bad as the ones in Eustis/Mount Dora.

No, they didn't. Their super greens consist of ROMAINE, baby spinach, and kale, and is their salad base. They changed the name because it isn't just romaine anymore. You can still request just romaine instead of the blend.

You need to check your sources before making these kinds of statements. This information is available on the Chipotle website.
