Never been to Disney World, but I’ve been to Disneyland a few times and…really never had any issues at all. But, it has been quite a while.

I can agree on the food though. Because of the number of people they have to feed at these restaurants, this is probably more of a commissary kitchen kind of operation, so I think passably quality is about all you can expect, even at Disney prices. I do miss the mint juleps, though, really good non-alcoholic treats.

They gave me additional theme park days with lighting passes and additional hotel stays - They clearly realized their employees were in the wrong and were applying inconsistent practices.
Most of us didn't live in Florida so the cash was more appreciated than free days would have been.

They give stuff to anyone for pretty much any complaint. Even if they're wrong. They'd rather you just go away. This is exactly why the prices are so high - so that "freebies" barely affect them. If the staff member that didn't agree on the height issue used the tools at their disposal (i.e., the "sign") and it showed TOO SHORT, I kinda doubt they suffered any repercussions. Indeed, probably letting someone on of borderline height is a worse offense. I also think they have a blanket policy to refuse a ride to anyone, for any reason. So, in "short" (HA!) even if they were wrong about the height, they probably were not wrong enough to be sweeping the streets.

It's lightNing by the way.

So you assumed several cast members did their job incorrectly ALL DAY (We rode SEVERAL rides prior to Pandora), yet the one who denied us entry was the one doing their job correctly?

Extremely poor logical thinking on your part.

Disney sent two managers to verify the height measurement was done CORRECTLY. They all then apologized and made several offers to my family and I. You see my son visited the pediatrician a few days prior to the trip and I brought the paperwork showing his verified height(44”) and weight I was waiting for them to get it right before presenting that document.

Also, do you have young children? Do you take your young children to the theme park? My son was with his other friends ranging from ages 6-8…it gets a bit chaotic. You make quite a bit of hasty, poor assumptions dude.

Are you a disgruntled Disney cast member as well?
I asked you a question. I didn't make any assumptions. You, on the other hand, either misread, or intentionally twisted what I ASKED and turned it into assumptions on my part that I didn't make.

Also, I'm not a dude. So more assumptions on your part, not mine.

Next, you asked if I have young children - and then without waiting for a response, ask if I take my young children to the theme park.

I'll answer you question: no, I don't have young children. I have no children at all, that was intentional on my part. You see, I didn't want to risk having children who might grow up to have the entitled attitude that you have. I didn't want to ever be "that mom."

Lastly, you ask if I'm a Disney cast member. I am not. I've been to Disney twice in my life. I'm retired from New England, which you'd know if you'd checked many of my 2,712 posts that have been read 1,684,876 times by others.

You make quite a bit of hasty, poor assumptions, dude.

Well, I appreciated your observations at Disney...we pay a LOT...employees are supposed to be nice to us...
it IS part of the job.
(I lived in Orlando for yrs...went for free often cuz of my friend's hubby working there.)

FINALLY! Someone that gets it!! It is their job to help ensure we have a great time at their facilities…not attempt to find bogus opportunities to deny us entry to amenities. A multi day outing at these theme parks are anything but cheap! We have plenty of amenities here in South Florida…there is little need for my family and I to drive to some manufactured experience to be treated poorly.

With the public assault on Disney’s image from the Governor you’d think they’d care a bit more about public perception.

Far too many boot licks defending Disney’s bad behavior.

Oh boy...NOTHING is free my friend. You give me additional "free" days to your theme park and I in return give you more cash in the form of further patronizing your restaurants, cafes, more extended valet parking days, possibly buying more merchandise etc. See where I'm going with this?

I reread your post, I believe I may have interpreted your response incorrectly - My apologies. Yes, cash back would be better than "free" park days to out of towners.

As the cost of living increases in metro Orlando and the wage increases at Disney do not match the increases in rent, it becomes harder for Disney to be picky about employees. Yeah, being Belle in the Disney parade looks good on a resume (Disney actually is a nice resume point if you’re planning a longer term career in hospitality) but when you can make twice at much as a waitress at Outback Steakhouse, then being a fake Aussie it is.

They also used to hire a bunch of foreign college kids to help fill the labor gaps. There was a temporary covid era halt on H-2B visas during the pandemic that hurt a lot of businesses that relied on them, and even though the H-2B visas are being issued again, a lot of the seasonal labor pipeline- typically Brazilian or Romanian or such college kids looking to spend some time in the USA boosting English language skills while making a bit of money- seems to be slow to refill.

This was not my experience AT ALL...hence me creating this thread.

It took nearly 2 hrs and an act of congress to get this issue resolved - An issue that should've never occurred in the first place.

Also to further illustrate my point, we were given those offers from Disney AND we were directly escorted by management to the front of the line to the Pandora ride. No one in good faith can claim that this is typical protocol by Disney or any other company when a customer was wronged...it isn't...they screwed up! And ran into someone who wouldn't tolerate it.

In regards to the overzealous cast members who denied us entry on bogus information, we got their names and the city they're from (in case they shared the same name with another employee) filed a complaint to Disney guest relations and called corporate...there will be some sort of disciplinary action taken.

With all due respect, I care very little to dig up your post history and location...sorry.

Also, I instantly knew you did not have kids based on your response (my question was indeed rhetorical)- It is not a response a mother would typically utter...it was very telling.

Finally, if asking for a little respect and then standing up for my family and myself when wronged makes me "entitled", I will GLADLY embrace that title. I do not allow anyone to treat me or my loved ones poorly under any circumstance. I'm a very kind, giving and charitable person, but I do not suffer from low self-esteem and I know my value.
