Here's an informative video about the situation from The Weather Channel.

I didn't know much about the algae issue until Facebook friends of mine who live on the coast starting posting about it recently.

What exactly did you expect from Governor Skeletor who did this:

Fla. Governor bans the terms climate change, global warming.

Then again why should Rick Scott who is a Martian care about our environment?

And Governor Scott is blaming his opponent Sen Nelson who he is running against. Scott is a hypocrite who says he's for term limits but he wants to continue to be a career politician.

I don't think the theme parks are a major issue...

I understand this is from a science fiction movie, but it's worth thinking about nonetheless:

To blame all this on Rick Scott is partisan politics at its worst. Cant recall any other governor {dem or repub} doing much about it either
What has dick done to help?

Floridians need to come together and take their state back. People from outta state like Rick Scott have been ruining the state for the last 100 years. All for greed and self gain. The don’t give a flip about the environment and would develop every last piece of land if they could.

I just did a google search to see what, if anything, Scott has done about the problem. Aside from declaring it a disaster a few weeks ago, there was nothing. I went to the governor's website and what-do-you-know...100 million bucks has been allocated to fixing the problem plus money to Lee County for cleaning up the algae. It's still a cluster but google seems not to want the info out there.
