There are exceptions to everything.

However, in my back yard it is 58.8 degrees, humidity at 54 percent, sunny and clear.

Minnesota. hahaha'

Instead of just saying "humid" lets put it into real numbers.

In this table, the Daily number is the the yearly average of humidity readings taken every three hours throughout the day., Morning percentages are for 7 am and Afternoon measures are for 4 pm local standard time.

73 Miami 84 62
74 Orlando 89 56
74 Pensacola 85 60

Unfortunately moving to NC I had to give up my favorite hobby, snowmobiling. I didn't mind the New England winters as much as my wife did, however after living in NC for 3 years I feel the cold a lot more. I'm sure that has to do with my age too. Probably my days to enjoy winter sports are nearing an end as I now much prefer a warmer climate. I guess if the heat and humidity in central Florida aren't that much worse than the Raleigh area, even though it's for a while longer, my wife and I could probably tolerate it as long as we had a pool.

Do you realize that less than 20 percent of the state population is over 65??

If you are lucky you will be old someday as well.

You're welcome. Its one thing to talk about "humidity" "hot" "cold" but putting into real numbers is more realistic.

Raleigh actually gets a little hotter, but at that point it's hard to tell the difference. Cherry picked stats don't tell the whole story either since it's not the 'feels like' temp. I go to Florida often, and for much of the year the air is so stifling when you step out of the airport it will take your breathe away. Like I said, if you're ok with Raleigh's summers you shouldn't have any problems.
