I started reading this thread and was thinking, Well, this person moved out of Florida to the worst possible place in California. No wonder he has such a bad opinion.
None of what he stated applies to where I live. I also swim every morning in the Pacific without a wetsuit here in Santa Barbara. Then I reached post 36 where the OP released his pent-up frustration that in California even the "ugly girls" think they are better than what they are actually worth. That's the Que to me that the OP's opinions are extremely shallow and immature.
