Those prices are double to triple what they should be. The amount of for sale and for rent inventory there is obscene. That area is in for a huge crash over the next 5 years.

Yep, this post by JimKing was from 2007. He sure called that one right, and the crash didn't take as long as 5 years to happen.

We are moving to the Port Charlotte area of,the west coast. Reason is the better beaches, warmer water, less impact from hurricanes. We have visited FL for decades, both sides, and decided the West coast was the better location. Now if I was in my 20's and looking for a young vibrant economy, the east coast in the Lauderdale/Miami area would be my choice. But being of retirement age, looking for a slower pace. Not fully retiring but not going to chase the rat race any more.
