There are no original people in Florida. They moved there or their relatives moved there from the north. Its like when I lived up north and we felt like the flat landers came up every week end and tried to make us Detroit. We all came from down south or as in the case of Florida they all came from up north except the Puerto Ricans who came from south. The anger you hear is the white people who are mad that a black guy got in the white house and or that the Hispanics are going to over take the majority spot the whites have held for many years. What you are hearing is the kicking death pangs of the white hate groups. They just express it in civil war terms in the south, its the same but expressed different in the west. You get the Alamo in Texas and still fighting Santa Anna. LOL Idiots who cant stand change.

Thats because every one is a Yankee in Fla. They think that if their parents moved there in the 70s they are now old south plantation owners. LOL Sun baked fools.

It's not so much 'yankee' but ex New York City rersidents. They bring their beliefs, lack of following rules, lack of morals and disgusting habits with them and try to force their garbage on the rest of us. .

Default Are Westerners Yankees?

I was reading this thread and I was wondering what the locals thought of us folks from Montana,Colorado,Wyoming etc. Are we yankees?

We are probably few and far between in FL compared to "northerners", but I always had a pretty easy time fitting in with my in laws from JAX and others I have met

They seem pretty intrigued by our wide open spaces and hunting (my point of common reference)

anyway just curious if there is any distinction from a FL local's perspective

I don't think so. Like you said, there are hardly any people from those states in Florida. I know that I'm a little intrigued by Westerners, simply because of the little phrases and minute accent-type things they have. People from those states seem, as a whole, to be pretty mellow.

Could you elaborate on these "lack of morals and disgusting habits"??
