I assume most posters on here are women. For the OP, male or female? As a man, I wear boxers. I wore the "tighty whitys" or whatever term people use for them now as a kid and felt like I constantly had to adjust myself -- much to my parents consternation. (Yay for a 6 year old grabbing his **** to adjust it in public!)
When I tried the boxers I felt so much more relaxed. Why not go commando? Couple reasons. Protection from zippers is one. The inside of my jeans have hard seams and coarse material for another. Sometimes they have loose threads that would really annoy me without the boxers there.
To comments suggesting boxers are no good for jeans -- I wear jeans regularly. I have no problems with them. When you put your pants on, make sure the boxers aren't all scrunched up.
love boxers, nice and comfy, but then again, I am not wearing skin tight pants like in the 70's (did I just age myself) and I like the way it feels when the boy'z hang.
I switch between boxers and box briefs depending on what I'm doing or what I'm wearing. Generally though I like the looser feel of boxers. I don't like to keep everything all confined.
I tossed the briefs after I became an adult. The only people I know that wear briefs are men over 60 and kids. Like most, I can't stand briefs. They're too constricting, uncomfortable, hot, and they look absolutely silly.
I've found that boxer-briefs are actually quite comfortable to sleep in, but I've been laughed at in turn for what is, according to some people, the male equivalent of sleeping in a bra.
I can wear either during the waking hours, but boxer-briefs, though not quite as comfortable, do seem to reduce the need for awkward (yet necessary) re-adjustments.
