Hey, everybody! I just (twelve days ago) got a new dog. He is a Mini-Goldendoodle. He's 6 1/2 months old and weighs just about 20 pounds. My other dog, to refresh your memories, is a female Mini-Australian Shepherd. It's turning out to be a match made in heaven. The two of them get along great and are good company for each other.

I see no real point in posting a picture to show you what he looks like. Just imagine any one of the millions of pictures of Mini-Goldendoodles you've seen and you can pretty much picture him. It's funny, but I absolutely never intended to get a Mini-Goldendoodle and I really didn't plan on getting a puppy. But when I saw the online picture of him, I fell in love. (He's in love with me, too, by the way!) I just wanted a male dog (adolescent or adult)that wouldn't get much over 35 pounds (25 would be perfect) and he turned out to be "the one." Thanks to all of you for advising me to get a male instead of another female.

Right, the only time my male peed in the house or on the furniture is when very infrequently a male dog would visit and pee in our house. Then my dog of course had to mark his territory! Fortunately that only happened a couple of times.

Females would just pee on the carpet/rug/floor instead. However, I did have a spayed female cattledog who often peed/marked territory on vertical objects above the ground; car tires, a tree or bush, wall, fencepost, roadside boulder...Then there was the very surprised person sitting on a beach. She'd run up to greet them and had received pets. We chatted for a few moments, then I walked off. Before she rejoined me, she lifted a leg across the poor guy's back. My personal belief was that she did this because she was adding whatever that vertical object was to her ever-expanding list of personal possessions.

Who cares whether it ends up on furniture or floor? It's just pee and it's removable!
