Thread was started 3 years ago as already mentioned above. OP has already got their earful on subject.

This is how I see it as well. You sell on CL and you should expect anyone to show up. OP did a very poor job of finding a suitable home for this puppy.

As I read the OP, and being a dog lover, I was glad she errored on the side of caution. But I do believe she was a bit wrong. And by the way the buyer didn't "bully" her he was rightfully upset, vented his frustration as I would have, and left.

It's bad to advertise a price of $150 for a set of speakers and then tell the buyer who has made the trip that the cost is higher. It's a lot worse when the buyer has his heart set on coming home with a new member of the family. And why? Because he dressed in black and had piercings? Because he smelled of weed? That's a bit judgmental IMO, there are millions of weed smokers who have ink and piercings who are excellent pet owners.

He also smelled strongly of marijuana.

I didn't want to tell him that I didn't feel comfortable selling to him, so I told him that I actually made a mistake on the price and was actually higher. He then got really upset and angry with me and wanted me to take the $150 since he was already there. I said sorry. He then got in his car and sped off. Was I wrong for turning him down? I really don't like to judge people and have been feeling bad about it these past few days, but he just didn't seem like a animal person.
What you did was good.
You practiced good judgement, in your choice.
