That's great! It sounds like you had much influence with your neighbor to help the other pups find good homes. Glad this all worked out so well. I live in a rural area myself and have found there is always a payback to be on good terms with your neighbors. Even if at first they seem like jerks It's great that you are happy with the one you took too. Good luck to you all.
A property owner up the road has a male and female cur dog chained up guarding his roosters. (He does not live on property; just has a bunch of roosters) He allowed the dogs to breed and now there are six pups running on the road and around neighboring properties.
The pups don't have a chance of surviving long. If the coyotes or Bobcats don't get them the cars will.
I'm considering snatching them.
Wartrace, terrible to hear the story about the loose puppies and proliferation of roosters. We can tell you that cockfighting, and the breeding/raising/training/selling of these animals for fighting is a major topic across our country right now and especially in areas like North Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee.
We suggest you report your concerns to local law enforcement, and, if you believe these animals are for fighting, you should report the information to the Humane Society of the United States using the email address animalfighting@hsus.org, and to Animal Wellness Action via animalcrueltytips@animalwellnessaction.org. Each of these organizations is offering a reward of $5,000 for information leading to the arrest/conviction of individuals on animal fighting charges.
You should also specifically make a call to your U.S. Congressman for your District. Congress will be tackling these issues in great detail this year (2023).

Good luck and thanks for speaking out.
Ahem. A question? Did you realize you were waking up an old thread? At 2.5 years old, perhaps it isn't archeological yet . . .
Since the thread has been revived I will provide an update. I guess the guy that owned the property needed money so it was sold. I tend not to judge people but this guy is the lowest form of human being. I won't mention what happened to the roosters but they are no longer alive. I am worried about the male dog that lived there (he is hairyit's father); I don't know what happened to him. He is a very nice and friendly pure breed Fiest dog. Hopefully, he was rehomed.

Nice to get an update! Thanks. One could wish for better news, but life does go on.

On re-reading that reply, the last sentence seems so grim! The fate of the feist is not known, but probably wasn't good news, but in the scheme of things, it all could have gone much worse, eh?
OTOH I didn't count, but most or all of the pups found homes, and we know of at least one that is well-loved. The roosters met their ultimate fate, perhaps a little early, but the only reason I know to raise roosters is ****-fighting, so they weren't exactly in for a regular life, anyway. Probably a good thing the neighbor sold the property, so there is that, too.
