Either a bridge or a tunnel. A road is just insanity...same thing expecting different results. The key is the greater good, not sub-optimization. Wait a minute, if that is the case, we do nothing!!

So they are planning on building four bridges, instead of the one 17-mile bridge, from Oregon Inlet to Rodanthe?

I could fix a whole lot of problems out there really quick. Problems with bridges, turtles, roads, wildlife areas etc..

Relocate everybody and every business off of those barrier islands and let nature take it's course. It won't be until a major tragedy occurs, that people will finally figure out why people never used to live on the waterfronts until the last hundred years or so.

We as a species, think we're smart and we can engineer around every problem. This is one problem that no one is giving any consideration to.
