As I said, there are also dozens of roads around it that are fun, as well, from the Gambler to Diamondback, to the Cherahola Skyway (which is much faster overall). https://tailofthedragonmaps.com/

These pics are me on the Dragon, having an absolute blast with pretty much no traffic.
That car isn't even moving. It's a posed picture. It looks like it was done at 5AM and they pulled off and waited for a break in traffic.

Real world conditions on the Trail of the Dragon, time lapsed to break the monotony of motorcycles riding bumper to bumper at 30 mph and ending with a crash.

I'm not allowed to call you an idiot. Look at it leaning in the corner. It was taken by Killboy who sits in corners and takes pictures of cars as they go by, then sells the pics online. It was in fact moving at a pretty good clip.

Get a clue.

The car is leaning because it's on a banked curve.

The car is in the same location in the curve in both shots. But in the second picture the camera man has moved from a position near the centerline to the shoulder of the road to get more of a side shot. At that point the guy sitting in the driver's seat leans over. The camera man is moving, the car is not. I'm sorry if you can't recognize a posed shot.

In Utah...
The Mount Nebo loop in autumn (when the colours change...)
Hiway 12 in either direction!
We drive these road trips every year!

Least favoured..., any long stretch with a lot of nothing in between...

Favorite near me is rt 25A going east towards end of Long Island. And road worth a damn.
If I have time, I usually start with Palisades, seven lakes, make my way around to get to port jervis, then to hawks nest, then 97 all the way up to Hancock, 17 South for a few miles to rt30 and take that all around Catskills, from there you can take 28 back to 87 or 55 up north Towards Adirondacks. Too long of a drive these days with kids an all. But back 10 years ago I'd do that drive just for fun, alone. 12 hours drive easy.

But my default, clear my mind drive is to Bear Mountain and cruise around seven lakes, or to Beacon.

Mid west towards California is amazing, I've done a few cross country trips for a job I had.

Saving PCH north drive for when the kids are a bit older so we can rent a convertible and just take days exploring the coast.

I've done Death Valley for a day in a rented Camaro and its was incredible. Just one of a kind type drive. It was 118 outsold earns I treated that new Camaro like it was mine.

Listen ****er, I was driving that road. Cars don't lean into the bank, idiot, unless they are in motion. if it was parked it would be leaning downward with the bank, on the lower side. Do you even know how driving physics work? I don't think you do. Unless you think that we put 2000 lbs in the driver's seat to make it look like it was leaning in the corner.

Look down to 4:28pm at my car in 5 separate shots. These are the watermarked versions and I bought 3 of the shots of it.

Why is it easier for you to make up a gotdamn conspiracy theory about everything being staged and made up, and believe that, then believe the person driving that road?

Yes, there are other people driving that road, but if you go there early on a weekday, or later on a weekday afternoon, there are MUCH fewer people. Especially this time of year.

way back in the mid-late 90s and I was living in beacon, I was restoring motorcycles and I had this cool 1968 honda 90 I would cruise the back roads from wappinggers down to beacon and south as much as I could - lots of cool abandoned stuff in there and the small river towns had a working sea port town flavor to them. of course it was a 90 with a top realistic speed of 45 so I took my life into my own hands. But being a 90 I could get around the gates and up the roads to beacon mt up to fishkill and past seegers place - great views from up there. also used atvs to climb the old cogway up to the old casino but that was a different type of drive.

I think this was my worst:

A few years ago my girlfriend and I were camping up in the Wasatch (very beautiful). We get in an argument and she tries to grab her gun and threatens to walk out in the pitch black forest and blow her brains out. I stopped her, called the cops, dumped her etc...but.............We cancelled the rest of the trip and drove home that day. 8 hours of intermittent silence and crying, arguing, yelling.

Wish I could remember the exact roads. Some of the best roads I hit were either me getting lost or deciding to take some random state highway.

Arkansas, roughly 100 miles northeast of Little Rock. Road hit a peak summit and the other side was a bowl type opening surrounded by small mountains lined with trees.

Tennessee/Virginia. Was driving from family home in Louisiana back to Norfolk Navy Base in a 1993 Cavalier coupe with base engine and manual transmission. Got off the interstate onto a state highway and entered some beautiful winding mountain roads during a time just after the leaves had started to turn for fall. That Cavalier was not a sports car at all but it was a blast to row the gears on those mountain roads and take those hair
pin turns. Radio stayed off the entire time.
