If the trunk is in the back of the car and it pops open as you drive, it should not be a problem. But I wonder if a trunk that is located in the front of the car pops open if driving at high speed? I do know that the hood latch of all vehicles have a safety feature or a secondary latch that prevents the hood from opening fully while one drives the car. I have never had a trunk pop open by itself, but I have had hoods that haven't been closed properly right out of the shop. A few days ago I noticed that the hood of my Tundra truck wasn't closed all the way when parking the truck at home. The person who was installing a topper on the truck forgot to close the hood, and I drove the truck home
