First of all, this is a bunch of noise that the Trump admin won't do. Then again, we also said we wouldn't elect him.

But go ahead and impose a 35% tariff on cars. You will make cars out of reach and unaffordable for the average American. The US is one of the few countries where people can buy all kinds of vehicles. Making these tariff wars will only help gain in the short-term and ruin it for the long run.

Not really. We're already at the point where 6-7 year car loans are common in order to make monthly payments affordable, and that's with a very low interest environment,

Yeah, but the Chinese population can't afford a wide range of vehicles like American can. Yes, the Chinese middle class is growing, but they mostly buy economy cars. Here in America, there's a wide range of salaries and people who can afford a wider range of cars than developing countries like China. You can't make direct comparisons like that.

China and Mexico WILL retaliate Trump if he tries to change things drastically. Overall, it will not be good for the US population.

A trade war will be 10x worse for them.

Yes, Cadillac is really suffering as a result of all that protectionism:

For Boeing, the good news:

And then, ooops... Trump gets elected:

Remember in his years of dealings, I think everybody knows he had to file for bankruptcy 4 times, from his bad investments. Not even taking any blame, he blamed the banks for loaning HIM the money. Now he is gambling and playing with OUR livelihood, and playing by ear it looks like. Not sure just yet if he is worth the gamble of doing this country well, versus the trouble he may cause. But we sure do need somebody to do something positive.

They will or at least lose a lot of business (jobs) if we get into a trade war with other countries and they start imposing retaliatory tariffs. If we slap tariffs on Chinese goods, don't think for a second that they're not going to hit Boeing in the nuts and kick them out of the largest growing airliner market in the world. Same for India. Same for Mexico.

Tariffs are business and growth killers.
