Well after all, that area used to be cedar chopper territory.... just like Northwest Hills. Lol

The Woodlands is a giant master-planned community… it can’t really be compared to Westlake that is kind of an organic hodgepodge of whatever style the wealthy favored at that particular time.

Or mention the wildfire risk.
Traffic is rough in the mornings, at the top of the neighborhood. I work from home, so I don't experience it but I hear bad things. I do drop the kids at elementary school via ebike in the mornings, which is fun. I am only heading into the city for concerts 4-4 times a month or midday lunches, so the traffic is no issue.

Wildfire risk is real, no arguing that.

I really don't notice many G wagons, mostly Porsche SUVs from what I see.

I can’t help but wonder if any more routes can even be built out that way to address wildfire evacuation routes.

I imagine it would be really tough. The geography is a challenge in and of itself and the environmental impact fights would be epic.

I don't even know where you'd put one - seems like when I was looking at a map a few years ago there was potential for a cut-through to the back of River Place but RP folks wouldn't stand for that. And even if you could cut more access points to 620, unless you solved the Four Points bottleneck that won't really do you much good. Maybe you could go to the end of Quinlan Park and build another bridge over Lake Austin. Good luck with that.

It's pretty much one of those "it is what it is" kind of things.

Not hardly. We really don't need to pave over the lake, too, do we? People who moved out there knew it was the other end of nowhere, they knew how few exits there were. As said above, it is what it is.

How many other places exist in America used to be nowhere that existed on the other end of somewhere? Plenty in Texas I'm certain. That particularly is a poor excuse for lack of planning and disaster mitigation.
