Craig-O's off 35 and Onion Creek is good as is Yaghi's Pizzeria off William Cannon and MoPac, it's next to P Terry's.

We used to love Reale’s when we lived up north. Haven’t been in forever. I’m from RI originally, and on the east coast there are places like Reale’s everywhere. In Austin, at least when I first moved here, there was nothing like that.

Conan's on the Drag!!

circa 1998. Then it became a Halal Bros. falafel restaurant, then a hobo burned it down last year.

I went for a run on Guad this past Saturday and felt like things looked a little sad. (Granted, it was like 8am on a Saturday, but still). It felt like there were a LOT of empty spaces.

I've been to Jet's Pizza in Michigan and thought they were pretty good, I was surprised they existed down south in Texas.

Yeah I fondly remember my neighborhood pizza joint. Full of kitschy Italian themed decor, Sinatra playing on speaker.

Up the road there was an Italian restaurant that was frequented by men of honor if you get my drift lol. There was a good sized mob presence back in the day.

Providence in the 1970s…. You may have heard of it. That’s when I lived there.

Sad to hear Austin Pizza Garden on HWY 290 West in Oak Hill has closed. That was my favorite place for pizza in Austin. Jett's on Brodie is my favorite relatively new pizza place in Austin. It's supposedly "Detroit" style pizza, but I never knew Detroit to have a "style" of pizza like New York and Chicago has. There's also one on South Congress near the HEB by South Park Meadows shopping center. Haven't tried it yet, though.

My favorite go-to pizza for take out is Mr. Gatti's. I realize it's a chain, but it was founded in Austin, so to me it's more like a local pizza than chain pizza. It's not fancy or creative like some other pizza places, but it is consistently mighty tasty and hard to beat, at a fair price. I find Mr Gatti's also to be the best pizza for next-day leftovers. I love a leftover pizza omlette for breakfast. Unlike most pizza places I have tried, I have never had a Mr. Gatti's pizza where the dough gets soggy and causes the pointed part of a pizza slice to droop down towards the floor. For my taste buds, Gatti's is the best chain pizza in Austin, better than Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Little Caesar's, and Double Dave's. I honestly believe it's highly under rated as a pizza.
