Currently I am researching ecommerce companies in Seattle for employment opportunities. As Amazon is the no.1 internet retailer and I would imagine a large presence in Seattle- has anyone in the Forum worked for them and recommend them as a good company to work for?
Thank you

Our son-in-law, and two nephews have worked for Amazon for several years. Also, our daughter was employed by Amazon for two years before joining Expedia four years ago. All have had nothing but positive experiences there.

My husband just got a job at Amazon (which is why we relocated). The benefits are excellent, and so far he's really enjoying working there.

My husband and I both work for Amazon.com, they're why we moved out here from the east coast. We both love and adore it! It is absolutely the best company either of us has ever worked for, they really take care of their employees.

My husband works there and loves it. We relocated from PA last year for this job. The beneifits, bonuses, and perks are amazing. We had a fantastic relocation package that made the offer even better. It is a job I would definatley look into! Good Luck!

Thank you for all of the positive responses. My main question is- is it possible to find a position there if you're not an IT professional? I worked for a small retail website for 4 years doing Vendor Relations: researched product inventory and new products and did customer order resolution on open orders- loved what I did. If I am looking to find a similar type position at Amazon- any suggestions as to what department I should focus on to apply to? Thanks so much. Laura

The economy in Seattle is very robust right now, so I doubt you'd have much difficulty finding a job there (even if it isn't exactly what you want).

I've heard Amazon is a good place to work as well, even though I despise them because they're an evil corporate entity (though it's almost impossible to live in the US not to work for an evil corporate entity these days).

I have been trying to submit my resume in the Amazon Career website- but when I get to the very end I get a message saying "Access to the Career Section Failed" and it will not go through- very frustrating. I want very much to apply but do not know alternative methods. Can you advise?
Thanks

I just needed to persevere- a couple more tries and it went thru. Now the wait begins!
