i've made a decision to order at least a 50 round box of 9mm and .45acp every two weeks regardless of price just so I can get some trigger time in once in awhile. Marksmanship is a perishable skill. Use it or loose it.
No it isn’t. Once you know how to draw a bead it is with you for life. I still recall sighting and firing my M-1 Garand rifle in 1962. I havefired a lot of guns since then but never forgot the basics.

Sorry, you are wrong. firing a rifle is far different than firing pistol. The reason I'm buying 9mm is so I can get back into what I used to be, right now I'm snapping the trigger.
I fire my .22 rifle and can still put 10 shots in an inch circle.
I learned on a "3 on the tree with an in-line 300 6" F100, I have not driven any stick shift in 20 years, can I still drive one, of course, can I drive it as good as I did 20 years ago - no.
Our local homegrown sporting goods store had a lot more loaded ammo than I had seen in prior months, and they were stocking more on the shelves last Friday.
I found some pretty hard to find Hornady ELD-X bullets for one of my calibers too. They had 6 boxes, I bought 2. A little bit of a premium price but whaddyagonnado.
No powder or primers though.
I've been on Calguns to get powder. Sometimes a lot of trading but there are folks from all over on that site. Guy at local gun store said they've gotten in 4 lbs of powder for the YEAR. I started stockpiling a few years ago. If my house goes up it's gonna be 4th of July

You own a gun? That surprises the hell out of me with your posting history.

Then I wonder if you should have a pistol, or rifle for that matter. You may need it after you have forgotten. I was a Police Officer for over 20 years, I haven’t fired one in over ten years. I have no doubt of my ability.

i am a retired Police Supervisor and a disabled combat veteran, I am sorry I disappoint your assumptions of what I should think. I have never bought a firearm, usually my employer would issue ne one.
