I'm not seeing a forum specific to home owner's insurance. Last year it was $614 (Allstate) but the agent, without our knowledge, gave us a discount we were not entitled. Three months after payment they billed for another $26 which we have yet to pay. The renewal came today and it's $758. Going with the $640 last year the increase is 18%. I have made calls to State Farm, Progressive, GEICO and a couple others and not getting anything close to $758.
We are stuck with an increase of 18% when house prices (maybe rebuilding cost?) have gone down.

Pay the $26. The only thing not paying it gets you is cancelled for non-payment. When you go to replace your insurance, you'll pay a lot more.
House prices may be coming down slightly with the reversal of the real estate market but rebuilding costs will continue to rise with inflation.

Yes we will pay it and with some luck the $758 includes the $26 lowering the increase to 14%.
Shopping around we spoke to a Liberty Mutual agent and their Liberty Home premium is $1300.
They did send us a quote for a company called Stillwater. Have you heard of that insurance company? Thanks.

This has been discussed in the House and Real Estate threads.
Yes, same here. In some parts, there is a hike in prices and next year we can expect to pay more. Those who were paying $1800-$2000, can expect to pay $1900-#2300. That's crazy.
We had two vehicles insured with Progressive for $233 for 6 months. The next renewal and it went up to $255 I think, a modest increase. We wait for the renewal this month and just hope it's under $300.
Even our safe driver award checks have decreased from about 30.00 every six months to under 10.00.
Two vehicles with All State Ins. One with full coverage and one with just liability. Over 65, no claims, tickets, and very very
low mileage. Our renewal for Jan 2023 up 230.00, with 906.00 as this current bill for a six month period.
Our area is experiencing more auto thefts, accidents, storms damages, etc. which i am sure helps drives up prices. The rich can't afford to lose any money, can they?
We continue to be pleased with Progressive for car insurance for two vehicles. No other company can touch it. The renewal increase is 1%.
Don't you mean your renewal increase is around 10%?
If your rate went from $234 to $257, it went up $23 and $23/$234 = 0.0983 x 100 = 9.83%, not 1%!
A 1% increase on your $234 rate would be $2.34.
