How many times have you seen your car's twin?

I have one of the most common cars on the road- a 2008 Accord. I see one everytime I drive in the same trim, though most are in much worse condition.

I think I've seen an exact twin of my Volvo C70 exactly once since 2013.

And I've seen my current S60 exactly once but I've only had it for 6 months.

Wife has a '24 CRV. I see 15 of them a day. Usually 2-3 are the same color/trim. It's to the point now I don't even pay attention.

Never. MINI Roadsters were fairly rare to start with, and the JCW trim had about 700 worldwide. The British Racing Green is a rare color on them, as well.



And on top of that, mine's slightly customized with unique stripes and taillights.

This is an oldie but I thought I would share anyways. Way back when we owned a green Ford Gran Torino. My husband usually picked me up from work. I saw him at the light. But I didn't notice that there were two matching cars since the sun was in my eyes. I got in the first one and sat down next to this very surprised gentleman. And got right back out.

I see my wife's 2020 Outback (Blue) twin almost every day, they tend to be the official middle-age+ woman's vehicle here. I rarely see the twin of my F150 because it's a Supercab, and most others are crew cab. I have only had my 1974 Nova for a few years and have never seen another in any color. The 1974 was the best selling year for the Nova (390,537) but for collectors today the 1969-72 are more popular.

I bought my first gen Isuzu Trooper back when hardly anyone in the US had ever heard of them ('82). Back when carpeting and an FM reception radio were optional accessories. People would stop and stare, then ask what the heck it was. Some opined it was uglier than a shoebox on wheels. I used it to move myself and all my worldly goods from one remote job to another. Then some automotive magazine published a fairly favorable review about its offroad capabilities and they started popping up. They were still so rare if you passed one on the highway you'd size theirs up, the other driver would size yours up, then both of you would grin and waive when your eyes met. Don't recall now how many colors they offered at the time, but the names leaned heavily towards the utilitarian, just like the truck: "white", "tan", "blue", maybe "maroon". Trooper owners also tended to pull up next to each other in parking lots to compare notes and chat. There were so few accessories and options that conversation didn't take long .
