Description: Located near Food Lion in Avon, Dirty Dick’s serves an incomparable selection of crabs, including snow crab legs, soft-shell crabs, spiced crabs, crab dip, crab cakes, and steamed crabs. The steamed, spiced crabs are superb, and Dick’s sells its special spice. The menu also includes steamed shrimp, clams, clam chowder, gumbo, jambalaya, and Cajun and Creole dishes. Sandwich platter specials and other offerings satisfy the kids. The tasty Dick Burger is a crab and shrimp patty with Cajun sauce. Order any of the menu items and steamed crabs for takeout. Dirty Dick’s has two other Outer Banks locations, as well as one in Virginia Beach and in Panama City. Dirty Dick’s is open for lunch and dinner in season and closes for a couple of months in the winter. Call for off-season hours.

Description: Oceana’s Bistro, located across from the Avon Pier, is known as the place to be with a menu that will please any palate.
