Mine is HDMI as well, but the signal is frequently choppy - switching channels it gets "stuck" and many weird things happen. MY TV is high-end, I know that's not the issue. TWC came out after much prodding and complaining and put in something to strenghten the signal, and it didn't work. Then they told me I had a bad cable box, so they replaced it but the same exact thing kept happening.

Comporium is a rip off.

I live off of Springfield Highway. Time Warner says they are going to do a field ticket to see if they can install cable. Anyone else had luck in this area?

What is a field ticket? Will TWC come out and do one if requested? It would be nice to have some choices in our area.

The reason TW HD service is choppy and sometimes freezes is because they have gone to a "switched" system to deliver most of their HD channels. Basically, this is a "on demand" system--the signal of the desired HD channel is not delivered to your home until you select the channel on your box. When too many subscribers in your neighborhood select too many different HD channels (or other on demand channels), there can be a delay or complete breakdown of the system. TW has gone to the switched system because they don't have the bandwidth to provide all the HD channels subscribers want. Comporium is currently converting to an all digital system which is freeing up additional bandwidth for more HD and SD channels, without having to resort to a switched system. The result is Comporium HD is considered far superior to TW's. BTW, Comporium's all digital system will mean ALL channels are delivered in the digtal mode, resultinf in better quality reception on all SD channels.
