At this rate, there will never be a hospital in Fort Mill.
I agree ... first they awarded the FM hospital to PMC ... then appeals and they awarded the FM hospital to CMC ... what's next Presbyterian ... then it starts again .... round and round and round we go ... and no hospital in sight ... just mega bucks in legal fees with all this fighting.
At this point I think they should let TWO of the hospitals build. After all, our population has doubled since the initial CON study was done approving the original # of beds. Surely we need twice as many beds at this point. I say just let Piedmont and CHS build, tell Presby "you can build the next one" and be done with it. Besides, a little competition is healthy - although I would only go to the CHS facility. I'd never go to a Piedmont Medical facility.

That is not possible in South Carolina. We have in place the "Certificate of Need Law" which restricts overbuilding of medical facilities. This is suppose to be a money saving (hahaha) law for the citizens.
Two interesting websites grade hospitals. When and if you ever have time to read through the grades.
This is the governments website and you can compare the three hospitals vying for Fort Mill.
When we first moved here in 2006 we went to their facility a few times when my son became ill and their service and treatment was ineffective and rude. We swore we'd never go back.
We are now loyal to CHS who has provided nothing but excellent care for our whole family when we've needed it.
Nope ... nothing yet ... probably will be after the first of the year.
