I used to work with a teacher who fancied himself as quite a hipster, despite his being of...let's just say...an advanced age. This hipster poseur insisted on addressing everyone--including women--as, "man".
"Look at me swing. Ring a ding-ding.
I even call my girlfriend "man," 'cuz I'm hip."
Here is another example of poor English usage nowadays, and this particular one can be heard from people in all walks of life, including broadcasters who are actually helping to reinforce this type of gaffe.
To what am I referring?
I am referring to the reality that most people do not seem to know that the word, "criteria", is plural.
As a result, almost everyone nowadays will tell you that, "The criteria is...".

That looks like an auto-correct issue, and not proofing.
Don't understand how it could be auto-correct. It was a SIGN in front of a restaurant, the kind where a human being had to go out there with a bunch of letters and place them into the slots.
Stop hitting your head like that. It's gonna leave a mark.
