Two more that make my hair stand on end: 'munch' and 'sip'. Really, really bad writers, the 'house-full-o'-cats, cuppa-coffee' types, love to use those. Once I read a single sentence describing someone munching and sipping, and was dancing around the room, having skin-crawlers.

Never thought of it before, but now that you've brought it up, I hate those words, too!
The use of the word "less" in express lane signs at the grocery store. "Ten items or less" should be "ten items or fewer."
It's amazing that supermarket management hasn't had more complaints about this. (A good way to remember "less" vs "few": Use "less" for amount, e.g. time, pain, etc. Use "few" for quantity.)
Yeah, I've got that one straight. And I know the difference between your and you're, but I occasionally see that I've used the wrong one. The same with there, they're and their.

Mostly it bothers me when I use the wrong word. But when other people use 'recieve' that really does bother me
