Likely the poster meant an antidote. (& on the model of Italian meals, that's the course that comes before the dote - you know, a doting mother, a doting favorite aunt ...)

That presumably means that the antidote is specific to the allergen, & that's what confirmed the diagnosis. (But I don't know that about antidotes involving raw shellfish - the protocol wouldn't just be to administer epinephrine or some similar stimulant? - & please note, all medical procedures should be carried out by licensed physicians. You may have other rights, which vary from state to state. Objects in mirror are larger than they appear.)

We now return control of your monitor/screen ...

That's a good observation. For whatever reason, dote seems to be typically used in relation to the distaff side. There's an element of excessive fondness there, & also hints @ mental processes beginning to deteriorate - compare dotage, dotard, dotty.

Still, better to have loved & lost ...
