I'm going to admit here in "public" that even being a supposedly mature 72 year old, I still cannot say that word.

Hmmm...That leads me to wonder...

When filming an "add", is it possible to subtract any scenes during the editing process?

Yes, you do it by dividing the film, thus multiplying the number of pieces of film to be spliced together. I'm an exponent of keeping a log of these edits.
